Book Selection by Vote
We select books by nominating them at the June meeting and voting on them at the September meeting.

The Details
In June each member gets 2 nominations. She must have read the book, not just heard it was good. Instead of voting immediately, we take the summer to read book reviews, etc. Usually a nomination or two is added during the summer.
In September each member gets 9 votes. Members may vote in absentia. The 9 most popular books are chosen. In case of ties for the last few books to be included, a re-vote on the tied titles determines the final choices.
Then we assign each book to a month.
